BIOGRAPHY OF HRH OBA EMMANUEL ADEYEMI ALABA DEINBO, 1ST JANUARY 1913 – 25TH APRIL 2009
HIS EARLY LIFE
HRH Oba Emmanuel Adeyemi Alaba Deinbo the Alaye Aba was born into a Christian home at Ijebu on the 1st of January 1913 his father was the Late Pa Ezekiel Deinbo, a renowned tailor popularly called Agba Ninu Tailor’ his mother Olujoke Deinbo (Née Olowoporoku) one of the senior children of Pa Awonaike Popularly Known As Olowoporoku’ Princess from Olowoporoku Ruling House. Was a trader in a diverse number of commercial goods
Olowoporoku Ruling House Was One of the Ruling Dynasties in the Aba Kingdom.
Oba Emmanuel Adeyemi Deinbo was born and raised in a royal disciplined industrious and very responsible family.
EDUCATIONAL LIFE
Young Emmanuel Adeyemi Deinbo was the only child of his parents. He was sent to missionary school by his illiterate parents, the parents must have had the advantage of education and also positive influence of missionaries around them to decide to send their only child to school.
Oba Emmanuel Adeyemi Deinbo had his early education at Anglican Primary School Aiyepe from 1922-1925, he later left his parents to live in Sagamu with his uncle Pa Jonathan Odupele Popularly Known As “Baba Alegi Le Doye” where he was enrolled at Wesley School Oko 1927-1933.
He passed out in flying colours and obtained the first school leaving certificate, he trained as a professional teacher at Wesley College Ibadan in 1935-1938. After his graduation from Wesley College, he worked for some years. He enrolled and passed London Cambridge University but Young Emmanuel Adeyemi Deinbo could not further his education due to financial disposition.
WORKING LIFE
After successfully completing his education. He was absorbed into teaching professions. He started work as a qualified professional teacher.
He taught at
1. Imo Girls High School
2. Abeokuta Grammar School
3. Methodist High School Abeokuta.
He left teaching career to work at Federal Secretariat Ikoyi with Old Colonial Governor in 1945-1955. Due to his love for education, he Established National Evening Primary School Ebute Metta with some of his friends like late Chief Bex Banjo and others.
MARRIAGE AND FAMILY LIFE
Oba Emmanuel Adeyemi Deinbo got married to Mrs Hannah Adebisi Deinbo a native of Abeokuta from Owu Kingdom after many years having delay of the fruit of the womb he was advised by his brother in Sagamu Late Bishop Awosanya of blessed memory to have another wife. He took the advised of his brother and got married to Mrs Emily Aduke Deinbo a Charming Princess from Ake Palace Abeokuta.
North, South, East or West there is no place like home Oba Emmanuel Adeyemi Alaba Deinbo left the city to serve his people at home, little did he know that he would be the next king of Aba Kingdom.
Oba Emmanuel Adeyemi Alaba Deinbo was legally crowned as Alaye Aba of Aiyepe in October 1964 by His Royal Majesty Alayeluwa Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, The Awujale of Ijebu Land.
LAST JOURNEY
Oba Emmanuel Adeyemi Alaba Deinbo joined his Ancestors in 2009, at the Age of 96 Years. Kabiyesi dug his grave 16 years before his demise.
